Your new favorite nursery!
Landscape Essentials Nursery was born out of a requirement for hardy plants that can grow and handle all of Taranaki's wild weather.
Our landscapes all need some essentials, whether is a hedge to stop the cold southerly blowing through, revegetation plants to restore an environment, natives to be planted along rivers for riparian margins or plants to cover a large bank. It seemed like it was getting harder and harder to get bulk numbers of plants for those essential landscape jobs we all want to complete.
Welcome to Landscape Essentials Nursery
Established in 2005, Kurt and Tanya Phillips have grown a small business supplying Hedging, Shelter, Riparian and assorted shrubs for the local market. Now with a team of 6 we grow over 170,000 plants annually for all sorts of plantings. From large scale revegetation projects nationwide, to the local gardener needing a couple of filler plants for their garden.
Majority of what we grow is ecosourced Natives for revegetation projects. We source our seeds from a range of plants, and where we have a choice, we choose from an exposed environment. We are looking for hardy genetics, so that plants supplied to you are ready for all the harshness that our local environmental conditions will throw at them.
While we have propagation tunnels for cuttings and small seedlings to grow in, all our plants sold have 'grown-up' in an open air environment. We have basic shelter surrounding the nursery, but apart from that, plants are fully exposed to a Southern Taranaki environment.
